About the Authors
Dr. Nieca Goldberg is the Medical Director of the Joan H. Tisch Center for Women’s Health at NYU Langone Medical Center. A prominent cardiologist and nationally recognized pioneer in women’s heart health, her first book, Women are not Small Men, changed the national dialog about how women are treated and studied in medicine. In addition to her positions as Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at the NYU School of Medicine, Medical Director of the NYU Women’s Heart Program, and the Co-Medical Director of the 92nd Street Y’s Cardiac Rehabilitation Center, she is also a national spokesperson for the American Heart Association’s “Go Red” campaign – an association where she has volunteered for more than 15 years and served as a board member in New York City.
Alice Greenwood, Ph.D., is a sociolinguist who has worked in health care for many years. She specializes in research and writing about gender differences in communication styles. She has written and edited numerous professional and popular articles and books on various health care issues. She lives with her family in New Jersey and New York.
